Breaking News : Knight Riders crowned IPL-5 champions


  • A match-winning 89 off 48 balls by Manvinder Bisla and a crucial 69 by Jacques Kallis helped Kolkata Knight Riders beat Super Kings and win the IPL-5 championship by five wickets.

A brilliant 73 off 38 balls by Suresh Raina and a crucial 54 by birthday boy Michael Hussey powered Chennai Super Kings to 190 for 3 against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Opener Michael Hussey gifted himself with a perfect birthday present as the Australian scored a crucial 54 runs off 43 balls. His innings was studded with four 4s and two 6s. His partner, Murali Vijay, who struck 113 in the previous match against the Delhi Daredevils, once again showcased his skills with a quick-fire 42 off 32 balls. The duo stitched together 87 runs for the first wicket in just 10.2 overs.
Raina once again showed why he is one of the most T20 batsman as he struck a belligerent 73 runs with three 4s and five 6s. He got out in the last ball of the innings.
Brett Lee proved to be the costliest of the Knight Riders bowlers as he conceded 42 runs off four overs without any success.
Kolkata will need to bat out of their skins as they are chasing a mammoth 191.
